Abstract
This article explains how social capital in the management of Pulesari Tourism Village, Sleman, Yogyakarta, which is directly managed by the local community, is able to develop sustainably. Pulesari Tourism Village, which is a pilot in the development of tourism villages, has implemented the principles of Community Based Tourism by showing one of the success indicators, namely the improvement of the community's economy. Through descriptive qualitative methodology, this article has found the dominance of the role of social capital in the form of professional management structures and community responsibilities, cultural traditions that characterize the community and a sense of pride in ownership of the tourist village that arises based on family values and respect for ancestors so that the community continues to strive to manage inherited land as well as possible. The values of kinship, ownership, pride and high trust between individuals have created a spirit of mutual cooperation among the community in Pulesari Tourism Village so that they are able to develop a fair and inclusive tourism village.
