Abstract

Abstract: This development research aims to produce pocket book media as a medium for public education in Timbangan Ogan Iir Village. This research is a type of research and development (R&D) Research and Development with the development model used is the Borg and Gall model, there are ten (10) research and development steps because it is in accordance with the right environment for development pocket book media so that researchers only carry out six (6) stages, namely (Potential and Problem Analysis, Collecting Information and Identifying Needs, Product Design, Product Development (Product Manufacturing & Product Validation), Product Improvement and Product Trial). Data was collected through the initial analysis stage, namely by distributing questionnaires. Media validity was assessed by three experts, namely media experts, material experts and language experts. The analysis used is the Likert Scale and Guttman Scale. The product trial was carried out in two stages, namely a one to one trial on three respondents and a small group trial on ten respondents with the aim of testing the practicality of the pocket book media which contains information about maintaining environmental cleanliness. The results of the research were that the validity level of material experts was 75%, media experts were 62.5% and language experts were 75%. So that the media is valid for use as educational media. The level of practicality is obtained from the results of 100% one to one implementation, 100% small group trials so that the media is categorized as very practical as educational media. This proves that the pocket book media which contains information about maintaining environmental cleanliness is valid and practical as a learning medium.
