Abstract
As educators within the family, parents must understand the aspects of cognitive development in order to optimally support their children and identify any cognitive developmental delays. However, in Nagari Sungai Buluah, most parents still lack an understanding of early childhood cognitive development due to limited literacy. Therefore, this development research was conducted to produce a pocketbook as a learning tool for parents to better understand the proper stimulation of cognitive development according to the child's age. This development research uses the ADDIE model. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Two types of data are used to assess whether the pocketbook can serve as a learning resource: validation data, which is gathered by experts, and trial data, which is obtained from parents. The results of the validity assessments conducted by three experts show percentages of 83.33% (media expert), 85% (content expert), and 75% (language expert). Furthermore, practical assessments conducted by parents indicate a 100% rating in the one-to-one trial and a 100% rating in the small group trial. Based on the validation and field trials, the pocketbook on cognitive development stimulation can be used as a learning resource for parents.
